Rahel Kesselring is a researcher, artist and scenographer interested in processual artistic practices as well as raw materials and non-human agency. Currently, she is a research associate and PhD candidate at the Department of Cultural History and Theory and part of the Cluster of Excellence “Matters of Activity”, both at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her doctoral project investigates site-specific practices of repair, regeneration, and rewilding within forest ecosystems in works of contemporary art at the interface between art, cultural theory, plant studies and queer theory.

Rahel has a background in performance studies and scenography and most recently worked as a research associate and lecturer at Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK. As an artist and scenographer she works in the field of performance and site-specific art in various collaborations across Europe, such as steirischer herbst, MaerzMusik Berlin, Wien Modern, Festival far° Nyon, Ashkal Alwan Beirut.
